Greetings and Welcome,
The Catholic community of St. Francis of Assisi is, as the mission statement reads, “one family living in community,” where “all people are gifted with God’s grace and called to build God’s kingdom on earth.” We believe that all baptized Christians are given gifts (or charisms) through the Holy Spirit for a life of ministry and discipleship. Some have the gift of hospitality, others writing; some music and the arts, others administration; some prayer, others teaching; and some healing, others works of mercy. Using these gifts, whether while driving a van of youth, constructing a new building, facilitating a workshop, writing a newletter, visiting the homebound, or serving a meal to the hungry, we are called, as our parish mission continues, “to build God’s kingdom of justice and peace, faith and hope, love and acceptance.”
This blog will highlight the many stories of parishioners who are putting their gifts into action for the sake of God’s kingdom. With over one hundred ministries at St. Francis, we have a lot of “good news” to share. We continue to find ways to live out this gospel call “to love God and love neighbor.” I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you better. Please be in touch if there is anything I can do to help you find a place for your gifts in our parish community. Believe in the good news!
Peace and all good,
